Hamilton, ON - As a dedicated supporter of the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University, Wentworth Strategy Group is investing $10,000 to launch the Wentworth Strategy Group MBA Leadership Scholarship in support of student success. The first scholarship will be given out in fall 2023.
Under the leadership of Dean Khaled Hassanein, the DeGroote School of Business launched their new strategic plan in May 2023, with an emphasis on digital transformation, entrepreneurship, health innovation and sustainability. The Wentworth Strategy Group MBA Leadership Scholarship directly supports one of the plan's primary pillars - fostering a culture of excellence in teaching and learning that motivates students to become mindful leaders and active lifelong learners. The formal terms of the scholarship are constituted as:
"Established by Mark John Stewart, HBA (Class of '06), MBA (Class of '10), past President of the McMaster Alumni Association, and Margaret Zanel, BCom (Class of '89), MBA (Class of '90), co-founders of Wentworth Strategy Group. To be awarded to a student entering the Master of Business Administration program, who in the judgment of the DeGroote School of Business, has achieved high academic standing and demonstrates a commitment to leadership and community engagement."
The scholarship is intended to motivate young leaders beginning their MBA journeys to thoughtfully consider how they balance the pursuit of success in business with a values-based approach to leadership and ensuring that business achievement is aligned with good for community and the world. Specifically, the new strategic plan emphasizes an aspiration to create an ecosystem that encourages and supports entrepreneurial, socially reponsible, and ethical mindsets.
